A sixth grade social studies unit

Overview:In this unit, students are exposed to many of the world’s major religions, as well as forms of spirituality that are not “organized” religions. They learn about the important historical traditions that make up the community in which they live. They are introduced to research techniques such as the use of primary source materials, interviewing, and documenting subject matter with camera, video, and recorder. They then learn to synthesize information into a coherent whole.
